Luckily I don’t need a Payday Loan for Valentine’s Day

February 2nd, 2010

I’ll manage the gift for my Valentine but I still need that loan

The most common Valentine’s Day advertisement is “surprise your Valentine with flowers”. I suppose I could apply for a Payday Loan to cover the cost of a really impressive bunch of flowers but on second thoughts, I’ll spring for them myself. I’m going to use the payday loan to pay the body shop for repairs to the scratch job My Valentine did on my car. I hope the loan will cover the costs.

Flowers?

My Valentine will be surprised to get flowers from me. She knows I am not a flower guy and being my wife, might start wondering why I’m suddenly giving her flowers. You’ve got the picture, right?

I read all the ads

The internet is full of suggestions for celebrating this important holiday. Not all the suggestions are, er, shall we say, suitable. But I got some good ideas which I am happy to pass on. How about a chocolate fountain? If you and your Valentine are both chocoholics you will both enjoy licking. You could extend the fun to chocolate body paint. Do not invite family or neighbors.

A trip?

How about a surprise trip? You blindfold her, drive her to the airport and hop on a plane to somewhere. Don’t tell her where you are going. Choose your destination carefully – half the world are busy killing each other.

A new car?

There are some great deals on cars now. I saw an ad – ‘buy one and get one free’. Look for a great Valentine’s Day deal for her plus the convertible GTO sports job for you-know-who!

A Payday Loan

For this unexpected gift you fill out the payday advance loans application for your Valentine but you link it to her salary. Surprise!

The picnic

A picnic is always good. If it’s to be out in the fields or the forest remember to take a blanket. I prefer the indoor type of picnic where we spread a blanket on the floor near the lit fireplace with candles on the mantle and a couple of bottles of bubbly within easy reach. Take a spray bottle of child or neighbor repellant, as necessary.

The weekend

Spread your Valentine’s Day into a weekend. Plan a “getaway” to a bed and breakfast place. Choose one near enough or far away enough (or far out enough) to do the trick. Add gourmet meals and bottles and bottles of great wine.

What will actually happen?

All these are great ideas. If you can try one of them without causing any damage, that’s great. In my experience, the planning is most of the fun. In practical terms I always end up doing the safe thing, sending flowers.

The body shop

It’s time to head for the body shop. There’s the front door. Aha, it’s the flower delivery man. Now where’s that Payday Loan – it’s got a lot of work to do.
